Subtractive Variability
2015 / 2018 — ongoing · in the studio registry: 2015–today
Translucent layers of cyan, magenta and yellow that subtract light as they overlap, rotate or shift, generating the full color spectrum. CMY is no accident: it is the model of print standardization — a universe of development, speed, connectivity and industrialization.
It is the studio's most branched family and its kinetic engine: manipulable panels moved by the viewer, Kosmos discs spinning on their own bearings, the Circular like giant CDs, the Vitreum embedded in resin. Two start dates coexist: the first resin pieces (VITREUM) are from 2015; the panel series begins in 2018.

“The idea of creating a system in which I can create endless color combinations within the visible color spectrum by simply rotating or displacing the same image over and over (in C, M, Y)… the results are always random, unexpected, yet always interesting for me.”
