Motion
The work depicts speed — eppur si muove!
Four ways for something to move. Optical: vibration and moiré — the image trembles even though nothing turns. Mechanical: discs, panels and motors that actually spin. Situational: you move, and the work changes with you. And, underneath it all, an old obsession — cars, speed, whatever runs. The viewer never watches from outside: the viewer switches the work on.

Cars and speed — he used to draw supercars. The fascination with whatever runs cuts across his whole body of work and ends up, literally, painting cars: bodywork treated as canvases that also actually move through the streets.

Graffiti teaches the first lesson of movement: a work can be short-lived. It is painted, photographed and let go. Nothing has to stand still to matter.

It was the year his graffiti took him travelling for the first time. Straight to Heidelberg, to the Montana Cans headquarters — the spray-paint brand he still works with exclusively to this day. On the street and in the studio.

The Manifiesto Ultradinámico puts it into words: «la exaltación de la eterna velocidad omnipresente». Speed stops being a subject and becomes a program of work.

Subtractive Variability: cyan, magenta and yellow discs spinning one over another. Color stops being fixed and becomes a state that changes with how the layers cross. Pure mechanical movement.

Chromadynamica Dimensional: vertical slats that make the surface vibrate as you walk past. The work doesn't move; it moves you so that it seems to move.

Planned Iridescence: the color changes with your position, like a car's paint or a beetle's wing. Presented in a big way in Miami. You are the engine.

Distance · Speed · Time Formula: the work is titled with the physical formula of motion. No longer a metaphor for speed — it is its equation put on the wall.

Hennessy: installations mounted across several countries with motion sensors and TouchDesigner. The work detects the viewer and reacts — it moves because you walk into the room. Situational movement taken to its extreme.

Chromadynamica Manipulable: panels the public touches and rearranges. The work is reconfigured by hand — the viewer no longer activates it, but rewrites it.

Ultra Dynamic Range: Light & Sound. The image responds to the viewer's movement and comes alive alongside the sound. In collaboration with Rosendo Merel and Admire Audio. Series like Kosmos and Subtractive Variability Circular take the spin and the vibration into continuous format.

Sphere: gradients running at the scale of a building. Optical movement projected onto the largest spherical facade in the world — speed, at last, the size of a city.
