Planned Iridescence

UV ink printed on both faces of the PMMA, over anodized aluminum: an iridescent material of the studio's own development that regulates gradients of the light spectrum in color, repetition, displacement and rotation. No motors and no touch — movement is activated by the viewer's position: walking past is the mechanism.
The series debuted in his first New York solo show — Planned Iridescence, GR Gallery, 2017 — and remains active. It applies Cruz-Diez's color research to recreate digital experiences in inanimate objects: what Felipe calls cyber encounters.
