Subtractive Variability Vitreum

The line of the series that encapsulates color in resin. Three layers of subtractive color — cyan, magenta and yellow, in UV paint on PMMA — are embedded inside a solid block of resin. As the viewer moves, the interaction of light between the layers generates endless color combinations: subtractive variability, normally kinetic, is here fixed in place and made sculpture. «Vitreum» refers to glass as a vessel of perception, preserving color and light while keeping them alive. First pieces in 2015; the resin line resumes in 2025-26.
