Etai and I met the way graffiti people meet: by admiring each other's work. We come from the same tree — something like the second generation of one of the most legendary crews, him in Los Angeles and me in Europe. The first thing we made together was a limited edition of leather goods: a duffle bag and a few more pieces. This exhibition grew out of that. Etai scours Los Angeles for mid-century furniture and digitally maps each piece; I design the textiles, produced by the Italian house Limonta, and every object is deconstructed and rebuilt with the pattern integrated. It's the same impulse as Casa Axis — the Space Age furniture we've spent years rescuing and reupholstering — brought this time to his city: kinetic work on the walls and, below, the collaboration you can sit on.
