The story
POW! WOW! Hawaii: the handmade lightning bolt
He arrived in Honolulu in February 2016 answering interviews from the plane itself. In Kaka'ako, with a wall near Lana Lane Studio, he left one of his most quoted lines: graffiti is the military service of street art. After years of painting while keeping an eye out for the police, three whole days for a festival wall felt like an eternity. The lightning bolt he was planning did get built: he made it by hand, cutting the wood, beveling it and painting it, long before he had a CNC. He later replicated the same process for a show in San Francisco. They were his first steps in carpentry.
