Mural at the Centre Cultural el Molí in Benetússer, unveiled on September 25, 2025 as the work opening the IV Ruta de Arte Urbano VCF (Fundación Valencia CF, Ajuntament de Benetússer and the Gumball 3000 Foundation). The backdrop is the DANA of October 29, 2024, the flood that ravaged the area; Benetússer was among the hardest-hit towns. The composition is conceived in three parts that give the work its name: it begins with a calm, restful zone (stability), a very harsh interruption arrives at the center, and at the end clarity returns. It is a message of recovery: after the mess, we pull through.
The story
The DANA Hit Me Too
The DANA wasn't something I watched from a distance. It got me too: my studio flooded and I lost it. That's why this mural isn't about a building or a date — it's about what we felt here when the water took everything. Benetússer was one of the hardest-hit towns, and I wanted to make something for the town, not a cold tribute. I conceived the work in three parts, and that's where the title comes from. At the beginning there's a quiet zone, calm, everything in its place: that's stability. In the middle comes a very harsh interruption that breaks with everything, just like it really happened. And at the end clarity returns. What I wanted to say is simple: after the mess, we're going to recover. We're going to pull through.
