OuterSpace Project, June 2016: exterior facade of the Sound Table club, on Edgewood Avenue (Old Fourth Ward), painted in three days; the first intervention on that wall in a year and a half that was not advertising. The sketch was traced at night with a video projector, a technique he rarely uses.
The story
Atlanta: the projector, the homeless man and three days of wall
June 2016, OuterSpace Project: three days for the exterior wall of the Sound Table, a club on Edgewood Avenue (Old Fourth Ward, Atlanta). He arrived off the back of a string of other trips, in very rough shape, and it was very hot. To trace the sketch he used a video projector at night, a technique he doesn't usually use. He was alone. A homeless man kicked the projector to get his attention and the image went flying; he had to come down from the crane. The man confronted him and they nearly came to blows; in the end the man respected him and let him keep painting. It was the first piece that wall had carried in a year and a half that wasn't advertising.
